Version 2026.08.19 · Effective 19 August 2026

These Driver Partner Terms (“Terms”) are a contract between you and LIGER Pvt Ltd (“ULA”, “we”) for the ULA driver app and related partner tools in Sri Lanka. Riders are covered by the separate Rider Terms. Fleet operators who put vehicles or drivers on ULA also accept these Terms for that use, and remain responsible for their drivers and vehicles.

By creating a driver or fleet account, going Online, or completing a trip, you accept these Terms and the Driver Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stay Offline and do not accept trips.

1. Independent partner — not employment

You are an independent contractor (or you work for a fleet that is). These Terms do not make you an employee, worker, agent, or partner of ULA for labour, EPF/ETF, or tax purposes. You choose when to go Online, subject to safety limits we may set (for example maximum continuous Online hours). Those limits are safety controls, not a roster. You may work for other platforms unless a written incentive deal says otherwise.

2. Eligibility and documents
  • You must be 18 or older (or the legal driving age for the vehicle class, if higher) and hold a valid licence for that class.
  • You must keep current: identity, driving licence, vehicle registration, revenue licence, emission or inspection certificates as required, and insurance that covers the vehicle and passenger use required by Sri Lankan law for the service you offer (tuk, car, van, or other).
  • Private “own use” motor policies often do not cover app passengers. You must not go Online on a policy that excludes that use.
  • We may ask for police clearance, medical fitness, NTC or other permits, and training certificates, and may refuse or pause access until they are in order.
  • You must update us before documents expire. Expired insurance, licence, or revenue licence is grounds for immediate Offline.
3. Vehicles
  • The vehicle must be safe, legal, and match the type you selected (including any age or inspection rule we publish).
  • Plate, colour, and photos in the app must match the vehicle you send.
  • You must not substitute an unregistered vehicle or unapproved driver.
4. App, Online, and location
  • We collect precise location only while you are Online.
  • We need Allow all the time so we can offer trips when the app is in the background.
  • When you go Offline, we stop location updates.
  • You can revoke permission in system Settings; the next Go online will ask again.
  • Do not spoof GPS, use fake devices, or share your login. That is grounds for permanent removal.
5. Trips
  • Accept only trips you can complete safely. Start the trip with the in-app OTP or other start step. Do not start or complete off-app to evade fare or commission.
  • Follow the pin, wait the free-wait shown in the app, and treat riders with respect.
  • Do not refuse a trip solely on race, religion, sex, disability, or similar grounds prohibited by law, except a genuine safety reason you can explain.
  • Fares, waiting, extras, and cancellation fees are as shown in the app for that trip.
6. Pay, commission, cash, and payouts
  • Commission, incentives, and payout schedules are as shown in the driver app at the time of the trip (including any launch fee of 0%).
  • On cash trips, the rider pays you. You owe ULA any platform fee for that trip; we may deduct it from wallet or later CEFT collect.
  • On cashless trips, we collect through a licensed processor and pay you the driver share by CEFT or another rail we enable, minus fee and any chargeback.
  • You are responsible for your own income tax and statutory filings. ULA will issue such statements as the law requires.
  • VAT and invoice treatment of platform fees follow IRD rules and any written opinion we adopt. We may show tax lines on statements when required.
  • We may set off amounts you owe us (fees, device, chargebacks, damage claims we have reviewed) against payouts.
7. Insurance and accidents

ULA is a technology platform. Unless we notify you in writing of a specific platform policy, we do not provide the motor insurance for your vehicle or passengers. You (or your fleet) must maintain the cover the law requires.

If there is an accident or injury: ensure safety, call 119 where needed, do not leave the scene unlawfully, inform ULA in-app or at support@ula.lk, and cooperate with police and insurers. We may share trip GPS, fare, and account data with authorities and insurers as the law allows.

8. Conduct
  • Obey the Motor Traffic Act and local stand or airport rules. Do not block assigned three-wheeler bays.
  • No harassment, discrimination, or violence. No intoxication on a trip.
  • No weapons, illegal goods, or overloading.
  • Keep the vehicle reasonably clean. Report rider damage through the app.
9. Quality, deactivation, and appeals

We may limit, suspend, or end access for safety, fraud, document failure, serious ratings, cancellation abuse, or breach of these Terms. That is a commercial platform decision, not employment dismissal. You may write to support within 14 days to ask for a review. We will look at trip and document records. Repeat or serious safety cases may be final.

10. Privacy

KYC, bank, and location data are handled under the Driver Privacy Policy. You must only use rider data (phone, pin, chat) to complete the assigned trip.

11. Intellectual property and devices

The driver app and ULA marks are ours. You get a limited licence to use them to perform trips. If we issue a device or SIM, it remains our property unless we say otherwise.

12. Liability and indemnity

Nothing excludes liability that Sri Lankan law does not allow us to exclude. Subject to that, ULA is not liable for your driving, your vehicle, passenger injury on your trip, or lost earnings from being Offline or unmatched, beyond any amount we have clearly agreed in writing for that event.

You will indemnify ULA against claims and reasonable costs arising from your driving, your vehicle, your documents or insurance, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own negligence.

13. Term

These Terms continue until you delete the account or we end access. Accrued pay, set-off, confidentiality, and indemnity survive.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. The version date on this page is the effective date. Material changes will be posted here. Going Online after that date is acceptance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. The courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction.

16. Language

These Terms are published in English only. That English text is the binding version.
